Calculation of weight of circular steel bar (of uniform cross-sectional area)

Weight of Circular Steel Bar                                                                                           = Cross-Sectional Area x Length of Steel Bar x Density of Steel Bar                 = [{π (d²/4)} x Length x Density]

  • Diameter is measured in millimeter (mm).
  • Length of steel bar is measured in meter (m).
  • Density of mild steel is approximately ” 7850 kg/m³ “.
  • Considering value ‘π’ of as 3.14

So, Weight (Kg)                                                                                                                   = [3.14 x {d²/(4x1000x1000)}] x Length x 7850                                                         = (d² x Length)/162
